STRANGE TALES #112 (1963)

A thief called The Eel (Leopold Stryke, who will return many times in the future) steals a bomb and Human Torch gets it back.  Not a great story.  But look at the credits.  “Joe Carter” is not a real person.  And no, he’s not Stan Lee.  He’s actually Superman creator Jerry Siegel, who wrote under a fake name because D.C. wouldn’t be happy with him if he wrote for Marvel.

It’s criminal that Siegel even needed to do this.  He should have been rich.  But this blog is not about how Marvel and DC raped their creative talent, it’s just about the art.  And in this case, there’s nothing really worth discussing.

No Doctor Strange story.  The rest of the issue is typical strange tales post-E.C. style content.
