SPIDER-MAN: LIFELINE #1-3 (2001)

Steve Rude drawing Spider-Man. More please!

The story is a sequel to the Tablet Saga, which was written by Stan Lee 30 decades earlier. And when I say “sequel,” I mean that it takes place right after that story. So…It’s chronologically old, and it follows up on a legendary story without adding anything to the official chronology, offering me zero incentive to summarize the story here.

Basically, a bunch of mobsters find out that the tablets are still around and want them. I like this scene, where Peter ponders what he would do with their power–which includes the ability to undo death.

Rude’s art elevates Fabian Nicieza’s workmanlike script. A solid read overall.
