ADVENTURE INTO FEAR WITH MAN-THING #12 (1973)

Jim Starlin takes a turn as penciller.  Starlin is one of my favorite artists, and he doesn’t usually work with amorphous swamp creatures, so it’s a cool piece of his early Marvel work.

In this issue, Steve Gerber takes on police brutality against blacks but instead of taking the traditionally leftist angle, he has Man-Thing finding faults on both sides of the issue.  But in the end, the white cop shoots the black man and M-T burns the cop.

Deservedly so.
