DAREDEVIL #146 (1977)

Bullseye is quick becoming a fan favorite, but he’s still relying way too much on elaborate traps.  Still, I think this is the issue where he started to matter.  Bullseye takes over a TV station and makes Daredevil fight him on national television.  It shows Bullseye’s sense of the dramatic, and his unbalanced obsession with Daredevil.

Bullseye loses, of course.

Jim Shooter explains how Daredevil seems to dodge bullets.

Incidentally, this is also the first issue of Daredevil that I ever bought.  It might be sentimentality that made me name this one of the best single-issue stories of all time, according to this objectively accurate list, but it’s a really good comic.

It’s also one of the best Daredevil stories of all time.
