AVENGERS #219-220 (1982): Drax dies

Like so many of the really fun Avengers comics of the ’80s, this one starts with a bunch of interludes with the cast members.

tons of blow

The above is a righteous winter picture.

Moondragon assembles the team to help her and her father, Drax the Destroyer, in an intergalactic war

It’s snowing in New York, and the team find themselves compelled to answer a summons.

Wasp is summoned quickly, and we get some nudity.

Of course, with Moondragon, things never go smoothly.

Moondragon messes with all their minds (again) and gets Thor to do stuff she wants him to do. He gets out from under her thrall by changing into Don Blake.

At the end of the issue, Moondragon kills Drax.

And yes, he’s really dead.  Warlock resurrects him with the infinity gems years later.

And then Wasp gets the last blows in.
