Shroud gets involved with a gang war that includes Scorpion and Spider-Man. In the first issue, we see his history. It’s pretty similar to Doctor Strange and Iron Fist. He was a cop who wanted to get powers to fight crime, went to an ancient hidden temple, trained, they blinded him with a hot poker (ouch!), then the temple disappeared and he found he had radar powers like Daredevil’s (only more powerful) and a darkness power.
Some of this repeats stuff from prior appearances, but it’s a fuller telling of the tale. For whatever that’s worth.
Not much bad here, not much good. Not sure why Marvel thought Shroud needed his own series. He’s basically just a much less interesting version of Cloak.
