IRON MAN #38 (1971)

Brodsky was out as Iron Man writer, but Conway finished off his last plot with this story about a former criminal hired by Tony Stark, whose past won’t leave him be.  At one point, Tony gets shot in the arm, which leads to Iron Man being in a sling.  That’s just weird for so many reasons.  First, how at this point do people not know they’re the same person?  Second, why does a guy in a suit that gives him super strength need a sling?

The answer, of course, is “because comics.”
