AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #81 (1970): 1st Kangaroo

kangaroo

An Aussie raised by kangaroos now has their jumping abilities. Seriously.  And it’s not a terrible story.

But that’s not the important part.  The real story here is that Peter Parker is supposed to have the flu while he’s out being Spidey, and Aunt May comes to care for him.  He’s left a dummy out of webbing in the bed to fool her, but May’s no dummy.  She sees it and faints.  Peter returns and finds her passed out and is filled with guilt.

He doesn’t stop being Spidey, though, I guess because the guilt of not preventing Uncle Ben’s death is greater than the guilt of almost causing his Aunt’s.
