Issue #2 of this anthology miniseries about life on Utopia kicks off with a crudely drawn Northstar story. Then, Jubilee writes a letter to Wolverine. After that comes a Gambit story (ugh) written and drawn by Becky Cloonan. It’s not her best work, but I do enjoy seeing her stuff. For the closing story, David Lopez illustrates (in the style of Frank Quietly) a David Lopez script that has floating-brain-in-a-jar Martha Johansson foiling Quentin Quire’s attempt to destroy the island.
This is important only because it hasn’t been clear what happened to these fan-favorite characters. It makes it a better installment than the other three in this issue.
Not a shining moment for this series.
