Here’s a Marvel MAX book that is definitely in continuity. It introduces a new character, Parker Robbins. As a kid, he witnessed a fight between Daredevil and Electro but instead of wanting to grow up to be the hero, he dreamed of being the villain.
As he got older, his mother took ill and he became a teen-aged thief–stealing money to support her. On a job, he stumbled across a ritual and stole a cloak and boots from a monster working for Dormammu.
The demonic apparel gave him powers: He could fly, and got increased strength and durability.
He then becomes a bigger criminal, and in a battle with rivals Constrictor, Shocker, and Jack O’Lantern, Hood shoots a cop. He becomes hunted for the killing, but when the series ends, Hood has framed another group of criminals for the murder and is on the loose.
