DAREDEVIL #166 (1980)

Foggy is getting married, but Daredevil has to stop Gladiator–who is holding a class of children hostage in a museum–so Matt might miss the wedding!

Some interesting aspects of this issue: There are pages and pages of development for Gladiator. I don’t recall any Marvel book doing this before. I know we had Super Villain Team-Up and some short stories about criminals, but this is in Daredevil’s book. It truly humanizes the character, so that his taking children hostage is understandable (albeit not forgivable).

And Foggy’s frat buddy comes to the wedding, where we learn that Roger McKenzie doesn’t know how to spell “sight.” Or at least the editor, Denny O’Neil, didn’t catch the typo if it was Joe Rosen on lettering who made it.

And he doesn’t miss the wedding after all.
