I was not a fan of the original series, especially after it went on and on and on and made less and less sense along the way. But at least the cover of this one has a dude with a sword. I mean, if you’re going to have an Excalibur book, that should be required.
Anyway, some of the original gang plus a bunch of Captain Britains from other Earths help Brian Braddock become king of Otherworld.
Otherworld is basically the same thing as the Nexus of Realities that Man-Thing accesses from his swamp only this reality nexus point gets to be controlled by the Captains Britain.
If you’re not well-versed in Captain Britain lore–all the way back to the Marvel UK black-and-white stories from the ’70s–you’ll probably be lost here. I was.
Kang is in it, too, watching the events because he wants to control Otherworld.
If you like this kind of thing, this is probably a fine comic. I just don’t.
