Hulk goes to Easter Island to meet one of my favorite Marvel villains of all time, The Absorbing Man! And Frank Miller does the cover!
We get a flashback explanation that, after he was dispersed in the ocean at the end of his battle in The Avengers #191, Absorbing Man has lost his mind a bit–he is paranoid, and in hiding from “them.”
He takes Banner captive in an underground cave, and we see hints of Banner being claustrophobic.
Of course, Banner changes to Hulk and there’s a big battle that ends with Crusher Creel absorbing Easter Island, “disproving the adage that no man is an island.” Nice, ironic twist!
