Spectacular Spider-Man #164 (1990)

Beetle seems to have the villain version of PTSD, unable to do crime because he’s so scared of Spider-Man.  I kind of like that idea.

I would have liked it if the whole issue was from his perspective.

Down on his luck, Beetle’s psychological condition stops him from accepting a job from Kingpin, offered via The Arranger, to kill Spider-Man. Beetle is through messing with super heroes and just wants to do “straight” crime.

To get him back for saying no, Arranger tips off Peter Parker—author of “Webs,” the book about Spider-Man—about Beetle’s next planned robbery.

There is no honor among thieves.

Very nice little issue, with good character work for Beetle.
