ROM Annual #1 (1982)

Mark Gruenwald gets plot credit–the first time someone other than Bill Mantlo worked on a ROM story. And Mantlo’s Micronauts artist, Pat Broderick, draws this annual–the first time someone other than Sal Buscema drew ROM.

The story introduces Stardust, who will return for an issue of Quasar written by Gruenwald. The character is made of a star-based energy and the spirits of young children (very weird), and in the end ROM frees the children so Stardust dissolves into space.
