Note the animal totems above, which precede the fight, below. Panther and Kraven are warriors. Everett Ross is a pussy cat.
It’s a good fight.
Although Panther drives Kraven off, the hunter later captures him.
The details of the “why” are provided slowly as flashbacks by Everett Ross. Turns out, Kraven just wants Black Panther to make him a better fighter.
They culminate with Panther nearly killing Kraven on Broadway and The Avengers arriving at the end.
The heroes are looking into a terrorism plot, so the Kraven story effectively ends here.
