IRON MAN #21-22 (1970): 1st black Iron Man

A cliche cover hides a really good story.

Iron Man “quits” and trains his own replacement, Eddie March.

Tony is worried about his fragile new heart.

It doesn’t work out well, and Eddie is injured in his first mission, against Titanium Man and the new Crimson Dynamo.

When Tony puts the armor back on to get revenge, he is quite cavalier about Eddie March’s identity.

Graded B- for making him black, but not any higher for making it last only one story.
