Wolverine: Origins #50 (2010): Series Ends

This series ends with a story about how Wolverine laments all the beserker rages he’s had. His lamentations are in dreams and hallucinations.

He hallucinates or dreams a bunch of past kills then comes to camping with Nick Fury and tells Nick that he is “different” now.  It’s lame on many levels, not the least of which is because we the readers know he’s not different.  He’s Wolverine and this is Marvel.

A second story has Logan interacting with Hope and considering getting drunk behind a dumpster.  At the end, he realizes that he’s not really about drinking in alleys anymore.

And that is the end of this series.  50 issues of Wolverine “discovering” his origin and I can’t remember any of it.  Nothing new revealed.  No big changes.  The only thing that emerged from this book was Daken, Logan’s son, and I know people like him but at this point he is objectively a very thin character with simple motivations and zero depth.

This book never rose above mediocrity.
