Joe Kelly gets to write Deadpool again after the editorial team gets to appear on the recap page.
It’s a silly beginning for a silly issue.
Deadpool is hired by Ana Kraven to help set up the next big storyline, “Gauntlet,” wherein Spider-Man will fight all of his most classic rogues gallery one-by-one.
But this is a silly issue, and not actually part of the Gauntlet event, so instead of a classic villain, Spidey faces…
Lady Stiltman. Read that again: Lady Stilt-MAN.
After easily dispatching her, Spidey and Deapool fight for most of the issue. It begins with Deadpool asking for Spider-Man’s autograph, but giving a booby-trapped exploding pen to sign with. It’s all filler.
At the end, Ana Kraven has Madame Web hostage and we’re told in a teaser that Gauntlet comes next.
