You know an issue is important when it duplicates one of the greatest covers of all time.
The last Roger Stern issue–and he’s only on plot. I made over a hundred bucks off this issue when I bought two and it became super-valuable overnight. This was when the time of comic book collecting became a speculation-investment phenomenon. The beginning of the end of good comics, at least for about ten years.
Tom DeFalco’s run wasn’t terrible, to be fair, but coming after Stern it had a lot to make up for and it just wasn’t comparable.
