This is this book’s obligatory Siege Event tie-in. It occurs right before the book fulfills its tie-in obligations to Second Coming.
Hela reawakens the valkyrie in Dani in order have Moonstar bring Hela the souls of Asgardians killed during Osborn’s assault on Asgard.
Hela also gives Dani a new, badass look.
Dani doesn’t want to help Hela, but the death Goddess threatens to end all mutants if she doesn’t. Along the way, though, she learns that by claiming the souls, Hela actually saved them from a soul-eating demon.
Simple story, self-contained. It’s very nice to read these during the Bendis-event-dominated era. The fact that this is an event tie-in makes it that much more rewarding.
