Good art and a decent story—Clea is missing and Dr. Strange has to go on in interdimensional search to find her—can’t overcome the fact that it is very, very hard to write an interesting Dr. Strange story.
Claremont does weave in a brief telling of Wong’s origin: It turns out, his ancestor, a monk named Kan, was an explorer of dimensions who protected Earth from encroachers, and Wong’s daddy used to serve The Ancient One the same way Wong serves Strange.
