Hulk is literally crucified by The Gremlin, son of The Gargoyle (who Hulk fought in issue #1).
Nick Fury tells Banner and Thunderbolt Ross that General Talbot is being held by the Russians, so they go off to save him. Clay Quartermain appears as well.
Banner is part of the rescue (see the neat little diagram)…
…Which is how he ends up being captured.
Gremlin has a pet dinosaurlike creature named Droog.
Droog was the word for “friend” in the terrific book A Clockwork Orange.
Sadly, Hulk kills Droog in the end.
And once again, Hulk is believed dead at the end.
