Plantman is introduced in issue #113 as a disgruntled gardener who gets fired by Human Torch’s girlfriend’s dad, and tries to get revenge.
He gets an origin:
Lightning. OK. Stan wasn’t the most imaginative when it came to origins.
Or disguises. Everyone in the 616 universe wears a trenchcoat to hide in plain sight (see tag below).
Plantman is a strange choice of villain for Human Torch. Wood is flammable. And when you burn weed the smoke…Nevermind. Plant-Man has water.
