In issue #9, Simon Garth is laid to rest after resolving some bad stuff he did as a human. I’m grateful that, once Steve Gerber left, Marvel didn’t continue with this character. He’d be very hard for others to write. Which partially evidenced by this story, by Tony Isbella and Chris Claremont, with art by several folks. It’s a very “linear” and “logical” story–which makes it much less creative or interesting than what Gerber was doing. D+
Issue #10 has a Brother Voodoo story by Doug Moench and Tony DeZuniga that isn’t bad per se, but I just really dislike the Brother Voodoo character. D
And with that, this magazine is cancelled.
