Elliot S. Maggin and Cary Bates (best known as a Superman artist) take over the writing chores and…It’s not good. Perhaps the best thing they did was the annual JLA/JSA team up in issues #123-124, where they created “Earth Prime” and drew themselves into the story. They also got Adam Strange married, and brought Hawkman back to the team (he’d quit during Len Wein’s run, above).
