INCREDIBLE HULK #127 (1970)

The cover tag promises “three of Marvel’s most sinister villains!” but what we get is Tyrranus, the Roman sorcerer banished to live beneath the Earth by Merlin going to war against Mole Man and using the robot Mogul (and an enslaved Hulk) as his main weapons.

Tyrranus is obviously no match for Hulk, who literally tears his robot in half…

That scene reminds me of Monty Python.

I like how there is this ongoing battle beneath the surface of the Earth, and we don’t have a big resolution of it.  It’s just an ongoing feud that we get to see from time to time.

Hulk wasn’t Thomas’ best writing, but it’s some of Trimpe’s best work.  His style is a bit chunky and innocent-almost child-like-which matches well with a character like Hulk.  He is doing his own inking here, so you’re really seeing full Trimpe.
