DOCTOR STRANGE SORCERER SUPREME #69 (1994)

Strange is disintegrating and has to merge with another being. He wanted to merge with Vincent Stevens, but his attempts were rebuffed, so now he’s getting desperate.

Wandering Earth, he finds Forge and Polaris arguing about mutant-human relations. Since Polaris is taking the Professor X view of trying to better understand humans, Strange thinks maybe she’ll understand his need to merge to survive.

He tries to merge with Polaris.

Forge defends her, and seems to dissolve into a puddle. But he re-forms to shame her.

And Polaris is left thinking that maybe she understands why humans are afraid of that which they don’t understand.

The best issues of Doctor Strange make the reader think a bit. This issue does that.
