This story takes place back when the X-Men were pretending to be dead and living in Australia. It’s written by Doug Moench, who hadn’t been with Marvel for several years in 1997, and I’m assuming it’s an old inventory story. It involves mystic samurai, Mariko Yashida, Silver Samurai … You know what happens before you even read it.
Doug Moench is a solid writer and it’s a solid script. The artist did other work for DC, but this is his only Marvel job.
