I wonder if there’s a story behind this issue. It’s not billed as a “Maximum Security” tie in, and indeed the crossovers for that event came out in November/December 2000, not January 2001. But it’s a done-in-one with a fill-in creative team, and it has Iron Man helping SHIELD recover a sunken craft that has been taken over by what is either a seamonster or an alien.
Maybe this was written for Maximum Security but wasn’t done in time?
Anyway, I’m billing it as part of that event.
