Peter Parker the Spectacular Spider-Man #119 (1986)

Let’s start by taking a sec to admire the great job Rich Buckler did on the cover.

Sabretooth is the villain, and he’s savage.

And Black Cat proves how tough she can be.

She’s fightin’ for her man.

Sabretooth goes after Spider-Man for a variety of reasons, including that his face is all scarred up from when he got webs all over it and insisted on ripping them out instead of waiting for the web to dissolve.  Which by itself is pretty gruesome.

But instead, he finds Black Cat who, after a long fight scene, beats his face into the concrete until he passes out.

Pretty brutal. Sabretooth’s face takes a lot of beatings.

It ends with Cat in Foreigner’s apartment, showing that this is all part of a plot to convince Spidey to trust Black Cat again, so that they can destroy him.

Also, she’s doing Foreigner now.

Meanwhile, Mary Jane is the perfect chick ’cause she never gets mad.
