This is the Maximum Security tie-in. The mandate for that event is that every issue has aliens in it. That’s not a stretch for the X-Men.
Story #1, by Pruett and Booth, has Bishop return to Earth right before the Maximum Security barrier is erected.
They fight Ronan.
Bishop seems to have a key to help break down the barrier that has turned Earth into a prison planet.
I don’t really love the storytelling here–it’s completely disjointed if you haven’t read Maximum Security yet (and I haven’t read it yet). But on the other hand, there have been a half-dozen tie-ins to the event that I’ve already read and none of them had anything to do with the event. They just brought in aliens to the series for an issue.
In the second story, written and drawn by Cully Hamner, Colossus relates a past event to Wolverine that involved Illyana.
