New team, old story.
More of the “Secret Empire” epic. I’m not really feeling this ongoing tale. Even the name “Secret Empire” is pretty generic. And their leader Professor Power—that’s a pretty generic name for a super-villain with a generic aim: Blow-up-slash-take-over the world.
Thankfully, this appears to be the end of the story: The Defenders win in the end and get recognized by the U.S. Government as a super-team, in the same way that The Avengers have recognition and clearance.
With this arc, DeMatteis leaves the series.
