IRON MAN #178 (1984): Assistant Editors Month

I

Bob Harras takes over the writing chores for a sweet little story about the meaning of heroes and villains, told through the eyes of kids. This was maybe the best assistant editors month book of them all.

Most AEM stories were done as backups, but this one is the lead. After it comes a short story showing Tony drunk on the streets, by the regular creative team. It’s pretty dark, and a great character piece.

Assistant Editor Mike Carlin notes the change in tone.

I wish Marvel would do something like this again, but I guess we’re living in different times now.
