1986 saw the publication of Marvel’s New Universe. Unfortunately, most of the titles weren’t very good–most were average or below. But the idea of a new superverse that would take place in modern times would be revisited by Marvel to great effect in the 2000s with the Ultimate Universe.
None of these 1986 titles were canon, but later some of the characters would cross into the 616, so I’ll be covering each title briefly.
