This issue is a coda to the Armageddon Now! story. During that battle with the Hellions, Siryn’s vocal cords were slashed by Feral, leaving her unable to vocalize and therefore unable to access her mutant powers.
This issue is essentially a goodbye to her. She resigns from the team after almost drinking. Apparently, she’s been sober in AA for two years…Not sure if I completely missed that or if I forgot it.
Tommy Lee Edwards’ art is great. Sentimental character studies are often my favorite kinds of stories, and this one is pretty good.
