Hulk vs Wolverine again.
The story starts in Wolverine #144, where we flash back to Wolverine getting his first costume (yellow and blue) from Mac Hudson, and going on his first mission–where he is captured by The Leader.
Leader also has Hercules.
The heroes all escape. As he’s leaving the Leader’s hidden base, Logan comes across Hulk–and that leads directly into Wolverine’s first comic book appearance.
Is any of that relevant to Hulk #8? Not really. Wolverine is telling the story to Dum Dum Dugan, who is flying him out to fight Hulk again. This time, it’s because Hulk is being controlled by Tyrannus.
Nothing much comes of it.
