Marvel Comics Presents #68 (1991): Lockjaw

Lockjaw saves kids from a burning building.  Awwwwww.

And eats a cop’s gun. To Scott Lobdell’s credit, this is the rare time a black man appears in a comic of this era (or earlier) and doesn’t speak in a stilted fashion.

Karnak and Reed Richards appear as well.

There is no real “reason” for this story, but it does what an 8-page anthology story should do: It features a lesser-known character that you can’t see anywhere else, and gives the reader a sense of what that character is all about.
