Daredevil #222 (1985)

A Keith Pollard cover is usually a good thing, but when the interior art is the shadowy, indelicate work of David Mazzuchelli, Pollard’s clear lines don’t match the content. Or the gritty title character.

Foggy Nelson shaves his mustache.

Also, Black Widow guest stars as the team saves Glorianna O’Breen from some terrorists who hijacked her plane and crashed it in a swamp.

Yes, a swamp.  But no Man-Thing.  Sadly.

I don’t know why this creative’s team run doesn’t get more love.  Actually, I do.  It came after Frank Miller and preceded a second Miller story (which is the greatest DD story ever told, Born Again), and was then followed by Brian Michael Bendis a few years later, so it’s just overshadowed.  But the stories are really good.
