These final issues of Avengers: The Initiative are all Siege tie-ins. Siege serves to end the current line of Avengers books, and then Heroes Reborn will revive some and retool others.
Issue #32 is told mostly from Taskmaster’s perspective, offering a few pages of childhood/origin stuff. The next one is mostly told from Night Thrasher’s perspective, but also Diamondback. Issue #34 largely abandons the single-character focus, but throws it in for a few pages (adding Constrictor to the mix), and then in issue #35 the narratives jump around some more, from Taskmaster to third person to the conclusion, with a yellow narrative box that (I think) is Constrictor. It offers a summary of what happened to a few of the newer characters.
More importantly, if he is in fact the narrator here, why would Constrictor even know (or care) about any of that?
I really enjoyed the focus of issue #32, but then the jumping around (rather than saying with a single character perspective) made the story feel disjointed and hard to follow. Gage had a good idea to tell a massive event story through a single character’s eyes–but his failure to stick with it made it fall apart. Which tracks. This series consistently lost focus as to whether it was about a bunch of bad guys trying to go straight, or taking a gig from Osborn, or just trying to make it through mandatory registration.
