SPIDER-MAN AND DR. STRANGE: THE WAY TO DUSTY DEATH (1992)

A woman who keeps trying to kill herself on the day that happens to be the anniversary of Uncle Ben’s death. She does it by trying to jump off a bridge, and Spidey saves her.

Turns out, she’s Xandu’s girlfriend. Spider-Man gets body-switched by Xandu and Doc Strange has to help him.

And the woman, it turns out, was trying to kill herself because she was already dead and belonged in the death dimension. So Spider-Man and Strange help her stay there.

That’s the essence of this one-shot.

A few notable things: Gerry Conway and Roy Thomas, two of the longest-working writers in the business, team up on the script. And their work has, generally, continued to be good. That’s a rarity.

Also a rarity: The cover calls him Dr. Strange and not Doctor Strange.
