Avengers #240-241 (1984): Spider-Woman returns

Ann Nocenti killed Spider-Woman in the final issue of her solo comic, and this is where Roger Stern undoes all that.  But he’s nice enough to give Ann a “story consultant” credit.

Tigra summons The Avengers to the bedside of Jessica Drew, who has been in a coma since Morgan Le Fey trapped her soul in the astral plane.  There are six full pages of exposition in issue #240 to catch everyone up on the backstory before Dr. Strange and Hank Pym are brought in to essentially diagnose her as having literally lost her mind.

She gets it back in the end, but her powers are gone.

Turns out Magnus tried to erase her so he could get some booty time.

Also, Shroud helps out.
