MARVEL PREVIEW #14-15, 18 (1978): Starlord

Starlord gets his first two-parter, by Chris Claremont and Carmine Infantino, in which his female ship gets a body.

The two of them make out and have adventures together.

We also learn her origin: She used to be a sentient sun that was destroyed by galaxy-destroying armies, until the same God-stand-in that gave Starlord his powers found her and turned her into his spaceship.

Then in issue #18, Doug Moench and Bill Sienkiewicz took a turn with Starlord.  As you can imagine, this creative team had a more supernatural take on the character, in which he meets a race of beast-men and is more of a space vigilante than an adventurer.
