This comic was published in 1986 but takes place before West Coast Avengers #1. His acting career isn’t going too well so he takes a security job and, of course, weird stuff goes on. Then Sandman sets off a nuclear reaction and the Avengers call on Wonder Man to help, since his body is immune to radiation.
By the end, Wonder Man decides to become a superhero again and quits his security job, which is a little odd because the issue spends quite a bit of time establishing a bunch of characters from his new job site.
Note: This book is usually referred to as “Wonder Man Special #1” but the word “special” doesn’t appear on the cover at all.
