VENOM: THE MACE #1-3 (1994)

This one is a bit bizarre. A secret society last seen in the pages of Shadowmasters clones one of their best warriors, gives him a mace, and calls him…The Mace. (I really should see “not last seen in Shadowmasters” because nobody read that terrible comic book.)

But Mace also has a big gun. Because it’s 1994. And special tech that makes him turn invisible and do other stuff.

Most of the conflict in this book is about the Sunrise Society wanting its stuff back.

Venom is a full-blown hero now, with a girlfriend who celebrates his birthday with him and everything.

He looks like Wonder Man.

There’s no reason for this comic. It’s a mis-step in what so far has otherwise been a pretty good string of Venom books.
