What If? #38 is a little different. Three stories, all take place in the future. Some in the very distant future. One in 2013.
The lead story is the best one, and although it’s about Vision, who doesn’t get old (obviously), dealing with Wanda approaching death due to old age, what makes it cool is seeing Rhodey’s son as Iron Man. It suggests that Dave Michelinie, who wrote this story, either thought that his use of Rhodey as Iron Man (in his Iron Man run, which was going on concurrent with this issue of What If?) had the potential be permanent, or he was trying to make everyone else think so.
David Michelinie and “Paty,” whose last name is Cockrum.
The second and third stories are not as good. What if Sharon Carter Had Lived? and Daredevil: 2013.
As I write this, it’s 2020. And none of these guys look this old.
Oh, and wtf is going on with Kingpin’s pant/shoe outfit?
Daredevil 2013 is drawn and written by Alan Kupperberg.
