Another special format graphic novel with the three biggest names on ’91 Marvel marquees. Howard Mackie (Ghost Rider series writer, and creator of the Danny Ketch character) writes it and it’s drawn by the legendary John Romita Jr.
So, high expectations.
It meets the requirements you’d expect: big dramatic spreads, lots of muscles, bullets flying everywhere. Storywise, it’s much better than a lot of the one-shots released in 1991.
There’s not much of a story, but for what it is, it’s fine. And what it is is an excuse to have these three characters fight each other and then team up.
Then the trio fight Mephisto and Blackheart and, of course, a little girl is in their debt at the end because they may be scary, violent men, but they have hearts of gold.
There’s a hint here that Danny Ketch is not possessed by Zarathos.
