MARVEL TEAM UP #63-64 (1977)

Claremont and Byrne were a team supreme, and they loved teaming up for multi-issue Team-Up arcs.

In this one, Iron Fist Colleen Wing, Misty Knight and Spider-Man take on Steel Serpent, who is Lei Kung the Thunderer’s son.

It’s a story that comes directly out of the same creative team’s days on the Iron Fist solo book, but they didn’t get to finish it. So, they’re finishing it here.

Davos lost the competition for the fist power in K’un Lun to Iron Fist’s father, Wendell Randall.

So, he only has a partial dragon chest tattoo.

He goes up against Iron Fist. Spider-Man is there, too, but despite the fact he’s stronger than both of them combined and times five, he gets taken out early.

Davos…Wins!

Fist loses his powers and Misty has to save him from Davos.

She does this after some kind of undercover op against Bushmaster that…Doesn’t really matter.

Fist goes back up against Davos in the end, and wins.

The fights scenes are great, and someone found the models for the panels used by Byrne from Pictures from Martial Arts of the Orient (1975), photography by Bob Hope.

Meanwhile, on the letters page, is Mike W. Barr, future creator of Batman and the Outsiders.
