DEADPOOL: WADE WILSON’S WAR (2010)

Duane Swierczynski and Jason Pearson offer a different kind of Deadpool tale: A serious one.

Yes, he’s still crazy and silly, but this story—about a Congressional investigation into a covert operation Wilson had been involved in—has the look and feel of the old Joe Kelly stuff. It also reexamines his origin and…I’m pretty sure it’s not canon, because a bunch of other Marvels appear inconsistent to their Earth 616 histories.

Especially Domino, who in this universe is a terrorist.

Still, it’s a pretty good comic.

DP is about to get his own MAX series as well. Everyone wants a turn to play with a character who had, up to now, really only been known to hardcore comic fans.
