A new character, The Extremist, arrives in New York and kills an anti-super-hero talk show host. Spider-Man lures the killer out in the open by creating a fake “blog” that is also anti-super-hero.
He has a gun and can turn intangible.
Eventually, what comes to light is that The Extremist wants to kill Spider-Man and make a martyr out of him.
Extremist escapes in the end. He’ll appear one more time but thankfully no more than that.
In backups, Jackpot fights Shocker and investigates Mister Negative’s influence on the underworld. I can only assume this means her storyline will eventually be joined by Spider-Man as a main event in this title and … Ugh. Jackpot sucks.
